Manchester City are the heavy favorites to win the Premier League for a 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐡 straight year

It was a historic season for Premier League squad Manchester City last season, as they became the second club ever to win a “treble” — a Premier League title, Champions league title and an FA Cup win.

And while manager Pep Guardiola said on Friday that the feat would be “almost impossible to repeat,” sportsbooks are expecting the team to repeat as Premier League champions.

Manchester City are the odds-on favorite at sportsbooks to win the 2023-24 Premier League title, opening at -175 at BetMGM and now down to -150.

At BetMGM sportsbooks, 6.0% of the bets (sixth most) and 14.5% of the total dollars wagered (third most) are on the Blues.

Arsenal, which opened at +800 at sportsbooks, has seen the most

 movement. The Gunners are now down to +450, with the second-best odds to win the title. They have the most bets (27.3%) and highest handle (29.1%) of any Premier League team.

While it’s unlikely BetMGM will be too concerned, the highest liability is on Premier League newcomer Luton Town. The Hatters currently have 3,000-1 odds to pull off the miracle, but with 4.7% of bets and 2.7% of the handle, the liability adds up quickly. Not surprisingly, Luton Town (-275) also has the best odds to be relegated this season.

Something tells me the sportsbooks won’t be holding their breath … unless we have another Leicester City situation on our hands.
